Stainless steel is popular in kitchens and bathrooms because of its non-corrosive property that makes it look shiny with a clean finish. That is, when it is well-maintained. The 3 most popular problems that arise with stainless steel appliances are hard-water stains, scratches and a lacklustre shine. If you’re having trouble treating your stainless steel sink, refrigerator, kettle, dishwasher, oven … etc etc , try out these trusty cleaning tricks!
- Hard Water Stains
Can’t wash off the stubborn hard water stains that leave splotches on your sink and tap faucets? Try this natural remedy that will help keep your bathrooms and kitchens squeaky clean. It’s cheap and contains no toxic chemicals
Step 1: Cut a lemon into half
Step 2: Give the sink/faucets a good rub down with the lemon
Step 3: Let sit for a few minutes
Step 4: Rinse off with warm water
Step 1: Create a paste using baking soda and water
Step 2: Rub gently on scratches and rinse with warm water
Step 1: Do a wipe down of the stainless steel (fridge, sink, oven, microwave…etc.) with a wet rag. Vinegar can be used to get rid of tough grime.
Step 2: Make sure the surface is clean as baby oil won’t really be doing the cleaning
Step 3: Put some baby oil on a dry, soft cloth. Wipe in the direction of the grain (to avoid more scratches on the stainless steel). Flip the cloth over and with as little pressure as possible, wipe the excess down.
Don’t let any kitchen appliance dull your sparkle!
